Jewish Melodies, Sonomacana and Middle East Influences

Opening the show is Lara Brown, singer-songwriter, member of local band Sonomacana, and Shomrei Torah’s Director of  Education & Youth Engagement. She credits the melodies of Jewish prayers as an inspiration for much of her music. Sonomacana, with Kyle Martin and Dave McClean, as a Reggae influenced band, will select music that is referential to Rastafarianism and Judaism, as they have a strong connection to the Reggae genre.

Jewish Music Through the Ages with "Serenade"

The show continues with "Serenade" featuring Rick Concoff, our Shomrei Torah Teen Educator, Jonathan Marmelzat and Jeremy Lipsin. They blend strings, piano, and woodwinds, bringing together Jewish, Israeli, and American-inspired Jewish music from past and present decades. Compelling vocals will take you on an energetic Jewish musical journey.
